Durdle Door Winter Sunrise, Dorset.

December 2013 - There had been too much low level cloud for a decent sunrise picture from the beach so I decided to stay on the high ground. As the sun started to rise above the horizon into the cloud cover it's rays started to burst out into the open sky and created the strange effect you can see in this image. I also didn't fancy the mud slide down to the beach after the recent heavy rain fall and sad to see how much of this part of the coastline is being eroded. The Moonrise had been late at 4 am in the morning and is still visible top right.
