Slow start to 2013

I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year, just a shame about the weather which hasn't been great for landscape photography. I picked up a little compact camera for street photography and general day to day picture taking. I've been planning a '365' project for a long time and just needed a camera I could carry around with me wherever I go. A 365 project is where you take an image a day, everyday for a year. The Sony RX100 is a fantastic little camera that takes quality pictures and has most of the features of my high end SLR, but a smaller sensor. It's ideal for everyday walk around picture taking and fits easily into a jacket pocket. The build quality is fantastic and uses a Carl Zeiss f1.8 10.1 - 37.1 (28mm - 100mm equivalent 35mm) zoom lens.
It's great fun to play with and shoots RAW images as well as Jpegs. Some of its functions will only work in Jpeg mode but the quality of the images is still good in that format.
It has this great sweeping panorama mode that doesn't do a bad job once you get the hang of it and here's an example from the recent snow.

Poundbury, Dorchester wakes up to a snow blizzard.
