Another stormy day at the Bill
50mph winds, rain showers and constant sea spray are not ideal for photography, but I've learnt how to manage over the years. Face East if the winds are blowing strong from the West and lie low behind the rocks helps. Also important to use a long lens to keep yourself out of danger ... if you go in then it will be others that have to put their lives at risk trying to save you, and no picture is worth it. I think this is what has become known as a fairly calm day on Portland over the past few weeks compared to the extreme weather the islanders have had to endure. Stay safe out there!!!
